Both Evans and Remo offer a wide range of drum heads. Whether it's for concert band, orchestra, marching band, drum circle, etc...they offer it. We carry a selection from both companies and can order anything in their catalog. Check in at the store to see what heads are in stock at the moment.

The primary difference between drum heads is what they are made of (synthetic vs. skin head) and how they are assembled. For example, there are 1-ply, 2-ply--and then within that various thicknesses, coatings, reinforcements, combinations....(the list is huge)

More information will be posted or linked soon, including the differences between the types of heads, styles of music that they are commonly used for, the sound quality that can be obtained by using specific heads, tips on tuning, etc...

Our Most Popular Drum Heads

Clear drum heads are normally bright sounding with a longer sustain and are middle of the road as far as durability. These are a very common replacement for tom toms and what you will find most of the time on the snare side.

Coated drum heads typically have a brighter sound with a longer sustain and medium durability. This is by far our most popular snare batter head replacement and tom tom top head choice.

Pinstripe drum heads are manufactured by remo and the take two free floating plies combined with the "pinstripe". These heads offer a moderate tone and sustain and have a slightly higher durability.

EC2 drum heads are manufactured by Evans and they combine two plies with "edge control" rings that offer a controlled sound while still allowing the drumhead to respond no matter what the dynamic range or tuning is.

Controlled Sound drum heads have a medium tone and sustain with a slightly higher durability. These drum heads are available in clear, coated, and smooth white.

Ebony drum heads typically have a bright sounding tone with a longer sustain, and medium durability. These drumheads are commonly what are found on the front of drumsets.
