Description:Solid steel core string. Good, durable steel core strings for the beginning cellist. Stable through fluctuations in temperature and humidity. Bright sound, quick response. Works best with fine tuners for ease of tuning.

Description: Nylon core string. A great choice for advancing cellists seeking an affordable synthetic core string. Warmer sound than steel strings, greater stability than gut strings through humidity and temperature changes. Short break in period.

Description: Multi-stranded steel core string. Superb for the advanced and professional cellist. The small string diameter provides quick bow response. Helicore strings produce a warm, clear sound with excellent pitch stability and longevity. Comparable to the Thomastik Spirocore G and C strings. Since D'Addario is based here in the USA, Helicore strings are a great alternative to the more expensive imported European strings. With the constantly increasing prices due to the Euro, we've seen many cellists switch from Thomastik Spirocore/Jargar or Larsen Combos to Helicore strings.

Description: Solid steel core string. Kaplan Solutions Cello set is newly formulated to produce a full, rich, open tone. Designed to balance and blend well top to bottom. Conceived with the professional cellist in mind, they stand up well to extreme bow pressure, and provide a strong, projecting soloistic quality without being overly bright.

Description: Solid steel core strings/Stranded steel core strings. Kaplan Solutions/Helicore Combo Set combines solid steel core A (titanium wound) and D (nickel wound) Kaplan Solutions strings, with the stranded steel core tungsten/silver wound G and C Helicore strings for a unique blend of tonal warmth and powerful volume, all while maintaining excellent bow response. It provides excellent balance of power and warmth across the instrument, and is ideal for chamber music, orchestral, and solo performance applications. The Kaplan Solutions/Helicore Combo Set is quite popular among professional cellists as an alternative to the Thomastik Spirocore/Jargar and the Thomastik Spirocore/Larsen combinations that have been the standard strings for many years.

Description: Multiwire spiral rope core string. Designed as a flexible, easily playable string that offers a good sustain with less effort. Equally effective when playing arco or pizzicato. Highly responsive and long lasting. Used by many professional cellists, the Spirocore G and C strings are often combined with either Larsen A and D strings, or Jargar A and D strings.
We Stock: 4/4 size. Medium (mittel) tension. G - Chrome wound. C - Chrome wound.
Also Available (Special Order): 4/4 Light (weich) tension or Heavy (stark) tension. 3/4, 1/2, 1/4 sizes are available in Medium tension only. The following strings are also available for 4/4 size only: A string - Chrome wound or Aluminum wound. D string - Chrome wound or Aluminum wound. G string - Silver wound or Tungsten wound. Description: Flexible steel core string. Handmade in Denmark, using thin threads of metal - aluminum, copper, and different alloys. The strings produce a warm, brilliant, powerful and well-balanced tone. Jargar strings have greater stability, durability and strength than gut strings while preserving the warm tone quality. Used by many professional cellists, the Jargar A and D strings are often combined with Spirocore G and C strings.
We Stock: 4/4 size. Medium (mittel) tension. A - Chrome wound. D - Chrome wound.
Note: Jargar cello strings are only produced for full size instruments.
